A designer at heart & a perpetual learner, Sujit graduated from Sir J. J. College of Architecture, Mumbai with a first class in B.Arch. During his comprehensive five-year B.Arch. journey, he has developed a passion in the field of design spanning architecture, graphics, furniture and interior design.
With a professional experience of over three years as an associate partner at Kshitij Dhande & Associates, Nashik, he has worked as a lead architect for various projects ranging from multi-specialty hospitals, commercial, industrial and residential projects. He has also been actively freelancing as an interior and graphic designer.
He believes that sustainable design is the most effective tool that can be used to enhance the human life. Using conscious design as a tool to build a sustainable future forms the core of his design identity. In order to achieve this, he believes, there needs to be a strong academic foundation, backed by research and unrelenting analysis.
In the realm of education, Sujit champions evolving pedagogies. He strives to adapt interactive teaching methods while engaging with the students in the form of lectures, studios and workshops, so as to boost their learning experience.
He recommends the book ‘Pattern Language’ by Christopher Alexander, to every architecture beginner.
She has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from one of the most prestigious institutes, Sir J.J. College of Architecture, affiliated to Mumbai University with a first class. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Architectural and Urban Conservation having a first class with distinction, from Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture (KRVIA), one of the reputed institutes affiliated with the Mumbai University.
Apart from this, she has a passion for painting and has been teaching watercolor, acrylic and gouache painting to numerous art enthusiasts globally via various online platforms through her classes and workshops. Being always positive, self-disciplined, and hardworking are her key traits. She believes that instilling positive values in students during their developmental years empowers them to confront challenges with confidence, ease and resilience.
She always guides students to explore various creative styles and mediums, which will help them to transfer their creative ideas on a tangible medium in innovative ways. She intends to encourage students to transform their ideas and imaginations into innovative design solutions, and push the boundaries of architectural possibilities. The design field is constantly evolving, with new technologies and trends emerging regularly. She aims to instill in the students a love for learning and adaptability, so they continue to grow as professionals throughout their careers and contribute positively to society.
Pornima Buddhivant is an Environmental Architect by profession, Researcher, Assistant Professor and, freelance Designer. She completed her Bachelor of Architecture from the Rachna Sansad Academy of Architecture, Mumbai in 2017. She holds a diploma in Natural Resource Conservation and Resource Management from the Ecological Society, Pune, and, completed her Master’s in Environmental Architecture from Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture (BNCA), Pune. She believes in using sustainable & green resources of energy & that is what she advocates.
She started her career as an Architect with Ratan Batliboi Architects. And also worked as a Research Assistant at MASHAL Pune under the guidance of Ar. Sharad Mahajan. Her diverse work experience has helped her broaden her skill range.
In 2019, she was awarded the Young Achiever by Happy Club, Mumbai. She marked her journey on the prestigious platform of TEDx as a speaker and, became the SDG Student Hub Coordinator for United Nations SDSN - Youth for her campus at BNCA, Pune. She was also the Campus Ambassador of Mango Architecture during her Masters’.
Her Research Papers have recently been published in prestigious International and national conferences. Her sketches & articles have been published in the Journal of Indian Institute of Architects (JIIA: May-June 2023 Issue) and Beejpatra Newsletter (PRC India, Delhi) respectively.
For her Architectural designs, she has been awarded and honored at the Disaster Relief Shelter 2021 International Competition by Mango Architecture, CDRI Disaster Resilient Infrastructure 2021, Media Student Architecture & Design Award 2018, Solar Decathlon India 2021-22, as well as got shortlisted for WADe Asia 2022.
Being an Environmentalist, her passion resonates closely with sustainable projects to curb the overall environmental impact. Her key areas of interest are Environmental Architecture, Passive design, Climate Change, sustainable landscape, Interior design, Heritage and, Education. She has a vision to educate a diverse student population to become creative thinkers; who through their creative professional work, contribute to making a better world.
